Batman first appeared as a comic book hero in 1939 in an other characters book. In 1940 had his own book. Due to comic's popularity Batman showed in other media too. In 1966 Batman tv serial started at ABC and lasted for 2 years. Later an animated show played too.

In 1989 Batman showed as we know it, with a movie directed by Tim Burton and Michael Keaton playing Batman. Kim Bassinger was the role partner of Tim Burton starting the tradition of beautiful women playing at Batman movies. Next movie was Batman Returns(1992) in which catwoman played by Michelle Pfeiffer showed. Then Batman Forever(1995) and Batman&Robin(1997) came. In Batman&Robin we saw an other beautiful heroine, poison ivy, played by Uma Thurman. George Clooney and Val Kimmer were the actors that played Batman in these movies.

In 2005 there was a different Batman movie, Batman Begins. In this movie how Bruce Wayne, Batmans real life identity, from childhood to adulthood, became Batman is told. 2008 movie Dark Knight was yet an other approach to batman movies.

As mentioned Batman movies has a reputation of Beautiful women playing as Batmans lovers or enemies. Some of them are Kim Bassinger, Nicole Kidman, Michelle Pfeiffer, Drew Barrymore and Uma Thurman.

Most famous of them is probably Catwoman and Michelle Pfeieffer. Here is how she looks as Catwoman, so glorious.

What about Michelle Pfeiffer in real, daily life?  Not so glorious eh?

What about an other heroine, Poison ivy who was one of Batman's enemies in the movie Batman&Robin. Poison ivy was played by Uma Thurman. Take a look at the photos to see the transformation.

And Uma Thurman in daily life..

These are examples reflecting the power of cinema, 7th art. Through the role power of actresses to special effects and costume design we can see how striking images cinema can create. One can feel the soul of the heroine image, how it reflects the character so successfully. This success lies in importance of details. Even a look shaped by actress or the color tone of a make up, the camera angles all play a role. To my personal view the most important is actress' role power though.
